DeVAUGHN PETTIThds5small

Pettit Timber, Inc., President and Founder DeVaughn Pettit earned his degree in Forestry Tech in Savannah, Georgia, and learned all aspects of the industry from timber purchase and land management to tree planting and more, while working for Bowater Paper Corporation in Tennessee.

He opened and operated his own high-production logging operation in 1991, which he managed for 21 years. Currently, six core logging companies harvest timber exclusively for Pettit Timber, allowing the company to focus on key aspects of timber harvesting and marketing.

DeVaughn is a member of the Georgia Forestry Association, Southeast Wood Producers, and the American Forestry Council, and has been a member of the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce for more than 25 years.

 

 

 

CHARLIE PETTIThds4small

Pettit Timber Vice President Charlie Pettit majored in Agricultural Economics at the University of Georgia, then traveled with the University to Veracruz, Mexico, where he nurtured his entrepreneurial spirit, learned the language, and went into business for himself. He met and married his wife, Sarai, and they welcomed their first son while living in Mexico.

In 2004, Charlie and his family returned to Georgia, where he joined the family business in which he had worked throughout his life.

As Vice President, Charlie specializes in wood fiber procurement, contracts and mill negotiations, and building relationships with land owners.

A Master Timber Harvester, Charlie also is a member of the Georgia Forestry Association, the Tennessee Forestry Association, Southeast Wood Producers, and the Bartow County Chamber of Commerce.

He and Sarai reside in Cartersville with their sons, Cam, Crawford, and Case.
